I’m getting asked often about my recent beauty story, Glitteratti and the lighting setup. Really it’s quite simple. I use a seamless paper and punch holes through with a pen or screwdriver until i have the amount that i need. Next I place one or two lights behind the seamless and aimed them towards the camera. I do some tests with just the rear lights and my subject to test the flare and the spread of the holes. Lastly, I bring in my front light and tailor my setup specifically for my subject.
I first did this set up over 10 years ago with Kci & JoJo. I kept it in the archives until around 2005 where I brought it out for a singer songwriter named Luke. I used it back in 2008 for Naked Eye Magazine with Fefe Dobson and George Nozuka. This is not a technique I use too often, but for Glitteratti, I felt it was perfect. Glitteratti ran in Magpie Darling magazine. Makeup & Hair by: Dee Daly (Judy Inc., Treseme) and my model was Krysta from Next.
