Studio 54
This year I have the honour of being the co-chair of one of Toronto’s most anticipated and exciting fundraisers, the boobyball, in support of Rethink Breast Cancer. This event aims to engage a new, younger demographic into philanthropy and raises funds to support programs for young women affected by this disease.
FLASH! This year’s event theme is reminiscent of the scandalous days of the Studio 54 era; the mash-up of fashion, art, celebrity and the iconic personalities that cemented its place in history. With the help of the amazing Hermann & Audrey photographers Steve Carty, Javier Lovera and Jalani Morgan, as well as cool snappers Babar Khan and Caitlin Cronenburg, we have created an exciting photography exhibit on showcase at the event and to support the marketing of the event.
With the generous support of Sutherland Models, Judy Inc, Lotus Leaf Style, Andy The Anh, Jenny Bird, Jules Power, Hermann & Audrey, ASC PR, Marben Restaurant and killer volunteers, we created an elaborate Studio 54 inspired scene of more than 30 people that each photographer interpreted through their lens. Each photographer had an hour in the scene to capture the essence of that famed moment in time. The images are incredible and ICON is drumming up an amazing printing showcase for these spectacular images.
Below is a teaser image by Steve Carty. The rest of the image collection was on display at the boobyball on October 16th at the Koolhaus for a crowd of 1400 young people supporting Rethink. www.boobyball.com
