Some of Toronto’s fines talent came together last Friday for the opening of Trust Only Kin, a vibrant art exhibition that took over our gallery space at 1506 Dundas as fourteen visual artists and four musicians joined forces for a fantastic live show curated by Giles Monette.
Trust Only Kin encompassed a massive variety of pieces ranging from Nicolas Fox’s intricate black and white charcoal work to the sleek gold calligraphy of Ronald Ruiz and Juliana Neufeld’s colourful fantasy characters. Doors opened at 9 p.m, revealing a kaleidoscopic screen projection created by Mark Valino at the front entrance, which was filling up fast.
Works by Justin Pape, Shakeel Rehemtulla and Paul Jackson graced the walls as Fake Art Records musicians KJ, Brendan Philip, Spek Won and DJ Sunclef brought down the house. Not to mention the insane pieces up by Michelle Lefade, Keith Jones, Mason James, Rajni Perera, Smolik, Nathan Enkel and Giles Monette himself.
A fantastic curation of bold, diverse and unique art accompanied by jamming music and house drinks, Trust Only Kin stayed in full swing until two in the morning. Friday was a success; complete with good vibes, amazing art and great company.
Stop by Hermann & Audrey where all the artworks will be up until next Monday and stay tuned for our next collective show “Wolf Pack” , launching on Dec 5th.
